Dr. Maureen Malingkas was born in southern California and has lived in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Mississippi before finally calling Arizona home.
Dr. Malingkas went to school at the University of California, San Diego receiving degrees in General Biology and Psychology. She then moved across the country to the deep south to pursue a Masters of Science in Biology at Mississippi College while also working on her southern accent. She attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi for dental school and continued specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, Mississippi’s only children’s hospital. She worked closely with other medical specialties in the area to provide care for the most special children of Mississippi including offering weekly general anesthesia surgeries for full mouth dental rehabilitation and catering to children and younger adults with complex medical needs. She also has worked in a private pediatric dental practice in Pearl, MS. After living ten years in the South, with her alligator hunting license and banjo in hand, she decided it was time to head back west.
Dr. Malingkas likes to travel, she is a foodie and loves to experience foods of different cultures. She also loves reading and daily cuddles with her two maltipoos, Beau Murphy and Mac Keju.
She is excited to meet you and your children and can’t wait to have you as part of our West Valley Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics family.
